Compost from winter barn bedding, from garden & kitchen waste, and vermicompost. Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) Intensive grazing management with sheep and horses rotated through subpastures until it gets too dry in late August. Animals are then fed alfalfa hay on the pastures to add the leftover trampled organics to the soil for the following year. Only natural and organic products are used in the gardens and the sheep. Natural (no chemicals) control for parasites, minimum vaccinations. Additional Information Homestead apple and cherry trees are not subjected to any chemical sprays or herbicides.
